Applied, Interview, Job Offer
For now the best decision for the family is too stay in our current city and for me to go back to my job after mat leave ends ( GAH, in 2 weeks).
When I stripped the idea of moving down to its roots the decison was really simple and based on one thing and one thing alone. I love having my family just across town. I spent 5 years 7 hours away from them and I truly love being able to call my mom up to go see a movie or having my brothers stop by for coffee. And I don't know if I could break Emmett's little heart by moving him 3 hours away. He loves his Grandma and Uncles and sees them all at least once or twice a week, and often more than that. I want Emmett and Kennedy to grow up knowing their extended family.
The two jobs my company offered me were fantastic. I would love, really love to accept either of them because they are right for me. They are a better fit to my skill set and personality than my current position. If only they were in our current city.
I half feel like I'm letting my company down by not taking one the offered jobs but I know they will understand. After hours of struggling with my decision all of a sudden I just understood that these opportunities will come again and if they don't then new ones will. Seeing my company want to work with me on different levels was a great confidence boost and also reaffirms that I am doing good work for them right now.
With passing on these 2 jobs I am going to offer to step up my volunteering in the company. Right now I focus on the local volunteering but I'd like to start aiming towards Provincial volunteering, which will bring in new opportunities for me.
